Reporting Problems and Getting Help

Hotline Reporting
A 24-hour service for reporting active water quality, erosion or storm water runoff or pollutant problems that do not warrant emergency response but that that you think require immediate attention.

Emergency Response
For emergency spills of hazardous materials or any other event that presents an immediate and significant threat to life or property.
Contact - Call 911 or Fire Dispatch at 522-1122

Water Quality Problems
To report storm water quality impacts to water bodies (streams, lakes, wetlands or marine shore waters).

Storm Drainage Problems
For active problems with storm water runoff coming from street drainage systems, call the Municipality’s Street Maintenance Department. Otherwise, call the Reception Desk to be directed to the best resource.

Storm Water Treatment Plan Review
WMS administers erosion control and construction site storm water permit (SWPPP’s) review and compliance.

Flood Hazard Plan Review
Under FEMA authority WMS maintains a flood hazard mapping database and administers flood hazard reviews as part of the Municipality’s permitting process.

Streams and Drainageway Problems
WMS continuously updates maps of streams and storm water drainage paths (drainageways) and helps facilitate specific problems with floods, icings, erosion, and drainageway construction and diversion.

Wetlands Problems
Wetlands are administered by the Municipal Planning Department and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
